WellNet Healthcare Expands with New San Antonio, Texas, Office

WellNet Healthcare, which is changing the health-care delivery landscape with its newly released technology Point to Point Healthcare, an integrated and highly efficient health-care administrative platform and patient-centric social network, has just opened an office in San Antonio, Texas.

Led by Texas native Dr. Dan Van Ackeren, along with a handful of health-care industry experts, Van Ackeren and his team will bring WellNet’s common-sense approach to the business of health care to Texas and other Southwestern states including Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana and New Mexico.

With the economy teetering in recession and health-care costs continuing to skyrocket, officials with Bethesda, Md.-based WellNet say now more than ever employers need to manage their medical-benefit costs as they would any other business expense.

Eliminating excessive waste in medical benefits, health-management and data-analysis company WellNet, which now has nine U.S. offices, is poised to bring its cost-effective services and solutions to the Southwest business community, which Van Ackeren notes is searching for ways to remove insurers’ massive revenue streams.

Insurers, third-party administrators and pharmacy-benefit managers may provide adequate medical and prescription-drug coverage, but the majority of these firms are unable to offer analyzed and interpreted data that enable employers to identify risk, avoid high-cost claims and implement actionable strategies before excessive costs hit their plans.

There’s a need for information to flow freely so that plan sponsors are able to measure and manage their health-care benefits without any vested interests. Relying on WellNet, for the first time employers that provide medical benefits for their employees are able to create alternatives that lead to choice, competition and savings of up to 29% on their health-care costs.

Combining measurement, management and administration tools on the front end, within the confines of HIPAA, Point to Point seamlessly connects employees to, among other things, their utilization data, all of their care providers, scheduling, chats, gaps in care and drug-utilization alerts, predictive modeling and health-management programs with an up-to-date portable medical file.
